Executive Summary Deterioration of urban environment, frequently accompanied by land degradation, is a critical problem in today’s Addis Ababa city. Even if mount Jemo Wechecha is allocated for green space, the area is not yet developed to provide the intended environmental services. Hence, the overall objective of the project is to rehabilitate mount Jemo Wechecha ecosystem in such a way that the city’s environmental deterioration problem can be ameliorated. To achieve at the intended goal, the following activities need to be carried out; physical soil and water conservation measures, enrichment plantation with 50,000 seedlings of indigenous plant species and protecting the area from unwanted human and animal interferences. The project will be implemented by AAEPA with a direct technical support of MEF. The total budget required to accomplish the above stated activities is 159,982 USD.
